Toyota Education Initiatives in STEAM Innovation and AAPS Prepare 2nd Round of Educational Visit to Singapore
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (May 30, 2014) – For the second year, Ann Arbor Public Schools staff members have been invited to join the Toyota Education Initiatives in STEAM Innovation (Toyota STEAM) program. This year, Superintendent Dr. Jeanice K. Swift will make the trip along with 20 other AAPS staff representing many from the district’s instructional and administrative levels.

However, with times on the family farm a little tough in 1988, the 22-year-old threw his name into the mix for a job at a new company that was setting up shop 55 miles away – Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky (TMMK).
One small problem: he was one of over 100,000 others who were applying for about 3,000 jobs.

GEORGETOWN, KENTUCKY, MAY 26, 1988 -- Toyota Motor Manufacturing, U.S.A., Inc., today reached a major milestone at the new $1.1 billion automobile manufacturing complex in Georgetown, Kentucky. An internal employee ceremony attended by approximately 1,100 employees celebrated the first Toyota Camry produced in Kentucky using newly installed equipment, processes, and the dedicated efforts of an American work force.

Tokyo, Japan, May 28, 2014 — Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) will begin trial leasing of newly developed clinical research versions of its “Walk Training Assist” and “Balance Training Assist” robots to 20 medical facilities in Japan this autumn. The clinical research versions are improved versions of those announced in 2011 as part of the Toyota Partner Robot series. The improved robots are aimed to help in the rehabilitation of patients who find it difficult to walk or maintain balance due to illness or injury.
